| There are three kinds
of book items that I currently feature here:

Sketch
Books |
These are fully hand
made leather covers with a roughly 6"x9" or 8½"x
11" hardcover sketch book
inside. About 110 pages, plain drawing paper, no lines.
The above examples
show the
burgundy and black colors, and the first of my brass corners. They have new brass
buckles and antique brass rivets. Hand stitching can
replace the rivets as well (see photos of binder below for example).

Binders |
This example is one
that I made for my own photo album that travels the shows with me. It
has a dragon image tooled on the cover, and hand stitched outer border
(rivets can be done around the border, similar to the Sketch Book above).
It also has my business name on the binding edge.
The above example is a
burgundy color, though the color doesn't show up well in the photos. It
has a new brass buckle, and antique brass rivets.

Hand Bound Books
I have plan and am currently
studying the art of hand binding books. I will be setting some classic
and rare editions to paper, and binding them using techinques learned
from the 16th-18th centuries. Coming soon, the Necromonicon!

This first one is one
that would be real period. It was designed to hung from under the belt
using the extra leather and ball knot. This was a common style used in
situations where it could be dropped to it hanging position whenever you
required free hands, such as a merchant. Click the photos for larger versions. |

This is just an
example of an old period book with some tooled designs on the cover. I
could do something like this as well, including the distress to make it
appear aged. The only thing I haven't figured out yet would be the metal
hardware. But I could do similar leather versions perhaps. Still thinking
out some of this stuff! |
